On Monday, August 31, 2015, DARE Officers from Cayuga, Seneca and Ontario counties will join bank officials and representatives from the New York State DARE Officers Association to pick up materials for the 2015/2016 school year. Representatives from Auburn Police Department, Geneva Police Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Department and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office will be present to pick up the materials needed to bring the program the children in their communities. Elementary students in Auburn, Clifton Springs, Geneva, Phelps, Romulus, Seneca Falls, South Seneca and Waterloo will receive the materials. “Generations Bank is deeply committed to the communities in which we serve and actively seek out opportunities to support children and families. We see DARE as a natural partner for the bank with their programs that focus on kids and their personal safety”, noted Menzo Case, President of Generation Bank. “DARE is a perfect match since its ‘keepin’ it Real’ curriculum teaches and develops the social and emotional skills kids need to make safe and responsible decisions.” Later this fall, the Bank is the sponsor for a regional training seminar for DARE being held by the New York State DARE Officers Association and the New York State Sheriffs’ Association entitled ‘You Can’t STOP What You Don’t Know’ presented by nationally recognized speaker Officer Jermaine Galloway. The seminar is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn in October.
