Generations Gets $50k in Grant Funding for Seven Non-Profits
in Seneca County
Seneca Falls, N.Y. – Generations Bank announced today that they have secured $50,000 in grant funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY). The funds will be distributed between seven Seneca County non-profits.
AG Cutrona, EVP – Chief Banking Officer at Generations Bank, who led the grant application process on behalf of the non-profits, stated, “We are incredibly grateful to the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York for their continued support and commitment to our local non-profits. This funding will make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many in Seneca County by allowing these organizations to continue the vital work they do for our community.” Cutrona also extended his thanks to Tom Settino, Vice President of Member Relations at FHLBNY, for bringing the funding opportunity and application process to his attention.
This marks the second successful grant secured by Generations Bank from the FHLBNY, with a similar grant awarded in December 2023 to benefit five non-profits in Union Springs.
The seven grant recipients are: Beverly’s Animal Shelter in Waterloo, CAP Cayuga/Seneca Women’s Transitional House in Waterloo, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) – Sa-Go-Ye-Wat-Ha Chapter in Seneca Falls, The It’s a Wonderful Life Museum in Seneca Falls, Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes in Seneca Falls, The Seneca Falls Fire Department, and the Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center.
Grant Distribution and Planned Uses:
- Beverly Animal Shelter received a $10,000 grant, which will support essential needs such as food, supplies, veterinary care, and spay/neuter services for the animals in their care. Additionally, the funds will help cover utilities, facility maintenance, and repairs, ensuring a safe and well-functioning environment for the animals.
- CAP Cayuga/Seneca Women’s Transitional House was awarded $7,500 and will use the funding to help cover the cost of the operating expenses at the Women’s Transitional House. The funds would also go towards contractual services needed to maintain the building.
- Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) – Sa-Go-Ye-Wat-Ha Chapter in Seneca Falls received $5,000 to restore the DAR Fountain in Veteran's Memorial Park at Academy Square. A portion of the grant will also be used to refurbish the park’s benches, enhancing the space for the community.
- It's a Wonderful Life Museum was awarded $10,000 and will utilize the funds for working capital and ongoing construction efforts to improve their museum.
- Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes received a $5,000 grant to bolster their operational funds, ensuring they can continue to provide critical end-of-life care to community members.
- Seneca Falls Fire Department was awarded $10,000 to upgrade their equipment by purchasing new portable radios, replacing the outdated units and improving emergency response capabilities.
- Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center was awarded $2,500 and will apply funds to costs associated with the construction and renovation of their historical building.
